- Whats New at Hammonds House Museum
- Hammonds House Museum and Resource Center of American Art is the only public museum in Atlanta dedicated exclusively to the collection, exhibition and study of fine arts of the African Diaspora and Africa. In it's 19th Century Eastlake Victorian Facility, the museum offers visitors the opportunity to gain a wider understanding of the contributions of diverse artists of African Descent. Hammonds House Museum was founded in 1988 on the legacy of the late Dr.Otis Thrash Hammonds, a prominent Atlanta physician and avid arts patron. Upon his death in 1985, Dr. Hammonds' extensive art collection, along with his Victorian home were purchased by the Fulton County Board of Commisioners, to provide a cultural facility in Atlanta's historic West End district.
